Soy sauce Beef, is a famous specialty dish in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. It originated during the mid-Qing dynasty and was created by Liu Lu, a Hui businessman from Cangzhou, Hebei. Originally, he pushed carts selling soy sauce beef in Huimin, later establishing "Wan Shengyong" to exclusively sell soy sauce beef. Due to his meticulous selection of ingredients and emphasis on various seasonings during preparation, the soy sauce beef is richly flavored. As a result, it was already renowned nationwide by the late Qing dynasty. Today, it still enjoys great popularity.
