Some people add onions when cooking tofu.Actually, this is not scientifically sound. Tofu contains calcium, while onions contain oxalic acid. Oxalic acid readily combines with calcium. This forms calcium oxalate. Calcium oxalate is not easily absorbed by the human body. Thus, it disrupts tofu's nutritional value for the body.
