How to Use a Sandpot
Our people have always liked to use sandpots to simmer soups,or braise meat. This is because sandpots are ceramic products and can well preserve the color, aroma, and taste of food. But if used improperly, sandpots are easily damaged. Therefore, when using a sandpot, one should pay attention to the following four points:
1 When first using a newly bought sandpot, it is best to use it for simmering porridge, or boil it with thick rice washing water to plug the fine pores of the sandpot and prevent seepage;
2 When simmering soup or braising meat in a sandpot, one should first pour water into the sandpot before placing it on the fire, starting with low heat then switching to high heat;
3 When removing the sandpot from the stove, place it on a dry wooden board or straw mat instead of on tile or concrete floors;
4 Do not use a sandpot to boil thick ointment-like foods.
