Chocolate Cookie Recipe

1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar (about 310ml), 3/4 cup (188ml) butter, 2 tablespoons milk, 1 egg , 1 3/4 cups (440ml) flour , 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup (250ml) chocolate chips (cut into 0.5cm square pieces). The amount of chocolate can be adjusted according to personal preference., 1 cup pitted walnuts (optional), 3/4 teaspoon baking soda.
Steps:
(1) Preheat the oven (heat for a moment without placing anything inside) to 180°C.oven preheating
(2) Mix brown sugar, butter, and milk in a large bowl until well combined. Add egg and mix thoroughly.
(3) In another bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to the mixture from step 2 and stir until well combined. The resulting mixture should be able to form a ball when pressed; add more flour if necessary but avoid overdoing it. Mix in the chocolate chips.
(4) Line a baking tray with parchment paper (no need to grease). Shape the dough into small balls, flatten slightly, and place on the tray with about 2cm space between each one.
(5) Bake at 180°C for about 13 minutes or until the bottoms of the cookies turn light brown.cookies should be removed from the baking tray after 2 minutes to cool. Let them cool completely at room temperature. Store in an airtight container and they can last up to two weeks. Note: The cookies will be soft when freshly baked; allow them to cool before handling.
