How to Make Pig's Foot Jelly

Category Food trivia

Ingredients:Pigskin(Best from the back, as it is tighter and easier to remove the fat.)
Method:
1. One catty of pigskin, wash it thoroughly, add some yellow wine, ginger, and.boil in boiling water until fully cooked, removing all visible fatty parts inside the skin (make sure they are completely removed). 2. Cut into strips, place the pork skin strips in a large bowl, use chopsticks to separate them, then add water, the amount should be about two fingers high (2 cm), do not fill the bowl too much and leave some space on top; it's best to add some chopped ginger.

3. Put water in a pot, steam for at least 3 hours (add more water as needed because of longer steaming time). Check when the pigskin is very tender.

4. Remove from heat, remove the ginger pieces, season with salt, or add soy sauce (though this will change the color).strain through a cheesecloth to improve the appearance of the jelly, pour into a pretty container and refrigerate overnight (it should solidify in about 4-5 hours). 5. Place the pigskin in the same container, cover with some jelly juice just enough to cover the skin, then refrigerate overnight; this is your pigskin jelly.

6. Alternatively, prepare some minced meat (beef, pork, chicken), and treat it like the pigskin jelly, add some jelly juice, making meat jelly (personally think this is the best). A photo was not taken for this step, will do so next time.7. Cut various jellies into pieces (gently cut to get patterns on the jelly surface, which makes it easier to pick with chopsticks; or use a dipping sauce and chopsticks as needed) and add some soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic paste, MSG, and chili red oil if you prefer spicy.(However, the color changes), use muslin to filter it, and then make jelly. The color looks better; pour it into a pretty container at home and refrigerate overnight (actually, it just needs to set, which takes about 4 or 5 hours).

5. Put the pigskin in a container as well, pour some jelly liquid over it just to cover it, and refrigerate overnight. This is pigskin jelly.

6. You can also prepare some minced meat (beef), pork ), like the pigskin jelly, add a little jelly liquid, which makes meat jelly (I think this tastes the best). I didn't take a picture of this one; I'll upload it next time.
7. Cut various jellies into pieces (when cutting the skin jelly, move the knife to create patterns; this will make it easier for chopsticks to pick up, although I eat them directly with a spoon when they are not in patterned cuts).Add some soy sauce, vinegar , moran oil, garlic paste, monosodium glutamate(MSG), and for those who like it spicy, add some chili or red pepper oil.
