Beef Mouthward
Cattle are ruminants, differing from other domestic animals in that they have four stomachs. The four stomachs are the rumen, reticulum (honeycomb stomach), omasum (manyplies stomach, also known as psalterium), and abomasum.) and the reticulum. The first three stomachs do not contain gastric glands and do not secrete digestive juices; they are collectively called the fore-stomach. The fourth stomach contains gastric glands that secrete digestive fluids, similar to those of pigs and humans, hence it is also known as the true stomach. The coarse feed ingested by cattle mainly relies on microorganisms in the rumen for fermentation and decomposition into absorbable substances.
There are two types of cow's stomach: those fed with feed turn black, while those that eat grains and crops remain yellow.
