What is Cow Fang Worm?

Category Food trivia

It is the cow's stomach.

Cattle are ruminants, with four compartments in their stomachs: the rumen, reticulum (honeycomb stomach), omasum (manyplies stomach, known as the cow's paunch), and abomasus. The first three compartments do not produce gastric juices and are collectively called the fore-stomach. The fourth compartment contains gastric glands that secrete digestive fluids, similar to those in pigs and humans, hence it is also called the true stomach. The coarse feed ingested by cattle mainly relies on microbial fermentation within the rumen for decomposition into absorbable substances. Cattle beef tripe can be divided into two types: tripe from cattle fed with feed turns black, while tripe from cattle that eat grains and crops remains yellow. The coarse feed consumed by cattle is mainly broken down into absorbable and usable substances through fermentation by microorganisms in the rumen. There are two types of cow's stomach flap; those that eat feed grow dark, while those that eat grains and crops grow yellow.
