Step 4. Roll the dough into small balls of similar size.

Step 7. Turn off the heat and let the oil temperature cool slightly, allowing the brown sugar to sink.

Step 8. Add the rolled balls into the oil, using low heat for slow frying.

Do not stir at first; gently shake the pot to prevent sticking.

Step 9. As the balls rise and expand, use a chopstick or spatula to separate them when their outer layer hardens slightly.

Step 10. Once the balls are fully fried with a hardened exterior, turn off the heat.Step 11. Use a strainer to drain and immediately coat with roasted sesame seeds while still hot. Step 12. Yum, let's eat!

Tip

Use low heat throughout the frying process. Do not add too much brown sugar; I added too much, making the fried tangyoguzi overly sweet after cooling. Just use a small amount.

Gently stir the meatballs as they float and expand.

Once the meatballs are fried until their skin hardens, turn off the heat.

Drain using a strainer and immediately coat with the toasted white sesame seeds while hot.

Yay! Time to eat!
Tip:
Fry throughout on low heat.
Do not add too much brown sugar; I added too much, causing the fried dough balls to have excessive syrup on their crust which became overly sweet when cooled; only a little is needed.
