Homemade Sandpot Tofu Filling Recipe


Shape Tofu is one of the most representative dishes in Hakka cuisine, known for its rich and flavorful broth, tender and smooth tofu, and delicious taste. The preparation is not complicated and it has been widely loved.
Ingredients Main ingredients: 2 blocks of tofu,dried mushrooms 5 pieces, 100g lean pork, 1/2 tablespoon of light soy sauce, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of sugar,pepper powder a little bit, 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 4 tablespoons of water, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch slurry, an appropriate amount of sesame oil, and chopped green onions.Ginger paste appropriately,chopped red peppers an appropriate amount Step-by-step instructions 1. Soak the tofu in salty water for 10 minutes, and rehydrate the mushrooms beforehand;

5. Cut the tofu into 8 pieces, use a ball cutter to remove the center part of the tofu;

6. Fill with prepared meat filling;

7. Heat oil in a pan, place the tofu with meat filling down side first, fry over medium heat until it turns golden brown and solidified;

9. Slightly fry each of the four sides for a moment;

10. Transfer the fried tofu to a sandpot,cover it with the prepared seasoning sauce, bring it to a boil;

11. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes;stew for 5~10 minutes.

12. When most of the broth has reduced, thicken with starch slurry, add an appropriate amount of sesame oil, and sprinkle chopped green peppers and green onions on top.
Tips
1. Choose firmer tofu for this dish; when removing the center part, be gentle to avoid breaking the tofu.
2. Fry the side with meat filling first until it solidifies, then fry the other sides; use a slightly larger non-stick pan to fry.
