Homemade Lotus Seed and Lily Bulb Porridge Recipe


Stewporridge I prefer to use a ceramic pot for stewing. The porridge cooked on low heat in a ceramic pot is much stickier and smoother than that cooked in a stainless steel pot, with better texture and flavor. Main ingredients 30g dried almond lilies, 50g dried lotus seeds,
brown rice rice 60g’and oats each weighing 60g‘40g, a few slices of red dates without the pits.
Steps

1. Prepare all ingredients; forgot to include the date slices in the photo.

2. Soak the dried lotus seeds and almond lilies for 20 minutes with cold water.

3. Check the soaked lotus seeds and remove any remaining lotus cores with a toothpick if necessary.

4. Place 2L of water in the ceramic pot, add the lotus seeds and almond lilies, bring to a boil, then switch to low heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

5. Then add oats and rice.

6. Add the pitted date slices and continue to simmer on low heat.

7. After 20 minutes, the porridge is already quite thick, but if it's not yet thick enough, continue to simmer on low heat.
Tip: When using a ceramic pot, no need to use high heat; the minimum heat will make the porridge stick and smooth while being delicious and energy-saving.
