Homemade Plain Zongzi Recipe



Original flavor Zongzi
Wrapping zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional custom. Now, zongzi can be varied and colorful;as long as you like, you can make all kinds of different flavors and shapes. This "original flavor zongzi" is in its most basic form sticky rice zongzi.
Main ingredient: sticky rice
:Zongzi leaf
Steps:
1. Rinse the sticky rice and soak it for more than 5 hours.
2. Take a soft, boiled zongzi leaf and roll it into a funnel shape.
3. Put in the sticky rice to fill the funnel.
4. Wrap it tightly with the zongzi leaf and secure it with a tied string.
5. Repeat step 4 for all zongzi. Place them in a pot.
6. Boil until simmering, then cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
Remove from the pot and serve on a plate.
Dip cane sugar to eat.
