Steps for making shengjian bao dumplings:
1. Prepare the dumpling filling and dough.

2. Use a spoon to place an appropriate amount of filling in the center of the dough circle.

3. Fold the dough over, then pinch it tightly to seal the edges into a long shape as shown.

6. Set aside the sealed dumplings.

7. Heat an ungreased frying pan and arrange the dumplings neatly in the pan, leaving little space between them to prevent sticking.

8. Pour a small amount of water into the pan, just enough to cover the bottom of the dumplings.

9. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for three minutes, then switch to low heat for two more minutes.

10. After five minutes of cooking, reduce the fire to very low and continue cooking for one minute when there is little water left in the pan.

11. Turn off the heat once the bottom edges of the dumplings are slightly golden brown.

12. Pour out the excess oil into a bowl and use a spatula to transfer the dumplings onto a plate.
