How to make honey zongzi

1. Soak glutinous rice and coarse grain millet in water beforehand

2. Drain the water from the soaked glutinous rice and coarse grain millet, then rinse with cold water twice;Boil the zongzi leaves for a while, wash them clean, and prepare them

3. Prepare honey dates

4. Fold the zongzi leaves, place one honey date inside

5. Place an appropriate amount of rice in the center, then place another honey date

Tips

1 Soak glutinous rice and coarse grain millet in water beforehand, the longer you soak them, the stickier they become. Change the water when they start to sour, usually soaking for a week is needed. Good quality soaking leads to soft and sweet zongzi;

2 It tastes better after cooling down; it's chewy and delicious.

3 Tie the zongzi tightly with rope to prevent rice from spilling during cooking.
