Homemade Sticky Rice Congee Recipe


Porridge, a regular on the family dining table. A bowl of soft and glutinous white porridge, served with some small dishes, makes for a cozy winter meal. I prefer not overly thick or thin porridge; it should be just right. To make good-tasting porridge, my secret is to add a teaspoon of cooking oil. Ingredients
Main Ingredients: Rice 1 cup, enough pure water, 1 teaspoon of cooking oil 1 cup of pure water, 1 teaspoon of cooking oil
Steps

1. Prepare the rice

2. Rinse the rice and add sufficient water.

3. Add a teaspoon of cooking oil to the water and stir well.

4. Start cooking in the porridge mode.Rice cooker and let it simmer, then open the lid later for softer consistency.

Tips
For electric rice cookers, allow the porridge to steam a bit before opening the lid for better texture.
The ratio of rice to water for thin porridge is about 1:12;
for regular porridge, it's about 1:8;and for thicker porridge, it’s about 1:5.rice and water are in a ratio of about 1:5 for thick porridge.
