Homemade Approach to Red Date Lotus Seed Glutinous Rice Lotus Root

In winter, eating glutinous rice lotus root not only provides abundant nutrition but also has lung-moistening and cough-relieving effects, as well as calming properties. Ingredients
Main ingredients: 3 lotus roots, 100g glutinous rice, Lotus Seeds 40 grams, Red dates 6 pieces, and an appropriate amount of rock sugar. Steps
1. Prepare the ingredients: lotus roots, lotus seeds (with the heart removed), glutinous rice pre-soaked in water, wash the red dates.

.2. Rinse the lotus seeds and soak them in water before removing the seeds' hearts.

3. Peel the lotus root and cut a cap from one end.

4. Use a chopstick to fill the hole of the lotus root with glutinous rice.

5. Secure the other end of the lotus root with a toothpick after filling it with glutinous rice.

6. Place the lotus root, red dates, and lotus seeds in a pot.

7. Add enough water, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 2 hours.

8. Add rock sugar.9. Turn the lotus root over and continue cooking on low heat for about an hour before turning off the heat. Turn to low heat and simmer for 2 hours.

(The dish tastes better if soaked for more than 2 hours),

1. Glutinous rice should not be eaten with apples as it may cause indigestion.
2. After boiling, switch to low heat to slowly cook the dish until fully done.
3. Soak the lotus root in water for a few minutes after peeling to prevent discoloration.4. For a deeper color, add red sugar and simmer for longer. Eating together, it may produce indigestible substances.
