Homemade Method for Braised Beef and Chestnuts

Ingredients Main ingredients: 700g beef brisket, 350g chestnuts, appropriate amount of oil, salt, sugar, rice wine,Ginger appropriate amount, scallions appropriate amount,Star anise appropriate amount, cinnamon stick appropriate amount, aromatic leaves appropriate amount, dark soy sauce appropriate amount,Coriander appropriate amount
Steps

1. Prepare the ingredients.

2. Cut chestnuts with a small knife and blanch them in boiling water for 5 minutes,

3. Peel off the shell and skin of the chestnuts, set aside.

4. Soak beef brisket in clear water for 30 minutes to remove some blood,water, drain, 5. Heat oil in a pot, stir-fry beef brisket until it turns color,

6. Add dark soy sauce and sugar, stir-fry until well colored,

7. Pour in enough water to cover the beef, add rice wine,

8. Add ginger, scallions, star anise, cinnamon stick, aromatic leaves,

9. Boil over high heat, simmer for 30 minutes on low heat.

10. Remove the beef and broth into a large

sandpot , continue to simmer for 60 minutes on low heat, 11. Add chestnuts,

12. Add appropriate amount of salt, simmer until the chestnuts are cooked through,

13. Sprinkle with coriander before serving.

Note
1. I accidentally used too much dark soy sauce, resulting in a darker final color.
2. Use a sandpot and keep it on low heat during cooking.
Crockpot cooking requires low heat.
