How to Make Candied Spare Ribs with Chestnuts

1. Peel and cut the chestnuts in half, prepare ginger, garlic, and star anise.

2. Wash the ribs, blanch them, then drain and marinate with cooking wine and soy sauce.

3. Fry the ginger, garlic, and star anise in hot oil, then add the ribs and fry until golden brown on the surface.

4. Add the chestnuts, stir-fry for a moment, then add water to bring to a boil. You can adjust with soy sauce or salt according to your taste. Bring to a boil, then cook under pressure for 15-20 minutes.
Tips
1. Blanching the ribs before frying makes them crispy on the outside and tender inside.2. This time, we ran out of cooking wine, so I used mulberry wine instead, and it turned out surprisingly well.Red wine would work similarly. Substitute with wine, the taste is surprisingly good. Estimate that red wine would be the same.
